This semester, my penultimate, I am studying Moore, the language of the Mossi people, the largest ethnic group in Burkina Faso. Moore is a member of the Niger-Congo language family. It contains noun classes, contrasting tones, and lots and lots of alterations between stops and fricatives. It also has contrasting nasality, which is super interesting to me.
Once school is done and I have time to breathe, I will be revisiting my papers and those of my classmates and publishing them here. My paper on phonetics and phonology will be here alongside my papers on morphosyntax and mood/modality.
If you know a native speaker of Moore that would be interested in documenting this language, please contact me.
